Recap: Murray State vs. SIU Edwardsville

Murray, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jarvis Williams scored 19 points and collected 12 rebounds to lead the Murray State Racers to an 82-72 victory over the SIU Edwardsville Cougars in an Ohio Valley Conference clash at the CFSB Center.

Cameron Payne added 17 points for Murray State (15-9, 10-2 OVC), which has won five of its last six. Jeffery Moss netted 15 points and T.J. Sapp turned in 14.

Maurice Wiltz paced SIUE (10-16, 6-6) with 13 points. Donivine Stewart chipped in 11 points and Kris Davis and Rozell Nunn had 10 apiece. The Cougars had won four of their previous five games.

The Racers shot an astounding 75 percent from the floor in the first half and led 46-35 at the break. SIUE kept things from getting to out of hand by sinking 53.8 percent from the field.

Murray State crashed down to 36.7 percent shooting in the second half, but a 13-8 scoring edge from the free-throw line allowed it to hold off the Cougars, who netted 43.3 percent in the period.

Murray State enjoyed a 39-30 advantage on the boards. SIUE outscored the Racers, 24-9, from 3-point range.
