Recap: Eastern Wash vs. Boston Univ

Irvine, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Harvey scored a game-high 21 points to lead the way as the Eastern Washington Eagles coasted to an 80-68 decision over the Boston University Terriers in the opening round of the 2K Sports Classic sub-regional at the Bren Events Center.

Venky Jois chipped in 20 points and eight boards for EWU (3-1), which Drew Brandon registered a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon also tallied seven assists and Ognjen Miljkovic tallied 14 points and six rebounds off the bench for the Eagles.

Maurice Watson, Jr. paced Boston (2-2) with 18 points. Nathan Dieudonne recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Travis Robinson led the Terriers' reserves with 10 points.

EWU took a 39-34 lead into halftime after it managed to convert 53.3 percent of its shots from the floor including 6-of-11 from 3-point range in the opening period. The Terriers stayed within striking distance by hitting on 6- of-12 shots from beyond the arc and converting 6-of-7 tries at the charity stripe before the intermission.

The Eagles pulled away by hitting on 55.6 percent of their field goal attempts in the second half while limiting Boston to just 37.1 percent shooting from the floor.

EWU dominated on the interior as it outscored Boston, 34-22, in the paint and held a 43-31 edge in the rebounding battle.

Vickers returns to racing at Las Vegas
