Recap: Tenn Tech vs. Milwaukee

Cookeville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin Arians paced all scorers with 17 points as the Milwaukee Panthers used a strong second half to surge past the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 70-63, at the Eblen Center.

Arians shot 6-of-10 from the field and added seven rebounds for Milwaukee (5-2), while Kyle Kelm and Matt Tiby added 14 points apiece.

For TTU (3-4), Dwan Caldwell tallied 13 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Ty Allen chipped in 12 points but he did so on just 3-of-12 from the field.

Neither team shot greater than 35 percent from the field in the first half, but TTU earned extra possessions by forcing 12 Milwaukee turnovers and took a 28-24 lead into intermission.

The Panthers surged ahead early in the second half by starting the stanza on a 7-0 run and never surrendered their advantage for the rest of the game. TTU cut its deficit to four with 22 seconds remaining, but Milwaukee made 4-of-4 from the free-throw line down the stretch to seal its fate.

Neither team was sharp from 3-point distance. The Panthers shot 5-of-16 from beyond the arc, while the Golden Eagles were just 2-of-17.
