Recap: Lafayette vs. Colgate

Easton, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin Tillotson scored 16 points and Damon Newsome-Sherman recorded a double-double as the Colgate Raiders earned a 75-68 victory over the Lafayette Leopards in a Patriot League matchup at Kirby Sports Center.

Newsome-Sherman finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds for Colgate (8-12, 2-7 Patriot League), which had lost eight of its previous nine games. Murphy Burnatowski added 15 points and Luke Roh chipped in 12.

Joey Ptasinski scored a game-high 21 points to lead Lafayette (4-16, 2-7), which has lost 11 straight. Bryce Scott tacked on 12 points, Nick Lindner contributed 11 and Monty Boykins tallied 10.

The Raiders hit an even 50 percent from the floor in the first half, while the Leopards were at 41.9 percent. Colgate led 38-30 at intermission.

Lafayette improved to 46.7 percent shooting in the second half. Although the Raiders only connected on 38.1 percent from the floor in the period, they hit 20-of-23 at the free-throw line to hold on for the win.

Colgate had a 40-30 advantage in rebounds.
