Recap: Montana vs. San Francisco

Missoula, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Kruize Pinkins scored 22 points on 10-of-11 shooting from the floor as the San Francisco Dons slipped by Montana, 75-74, in a non-conference matchup at Dahlberg Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Dons (3-2) was Cole Dickerson with 17 points, to go along with a game-high 12 rebounds, while Mark Tollefsen and Avry Holmes produced 14 and 13 points, respectively.

The Grizzlies (1-2) were paced by Kareem Jamar who not only scored a game-high 25 points, he also handed out eight assists and cleared six rebounds for the hosts. Keron DeShields chipped in 12 points, while reserves Jordan Gregory and Chris Kemp each tacked on 10 points.

Shooting 47.8 percent from the field in the first half, the Grizzlies found themselves trailing at the break, 30-27, after converting just 1-of-2 at the free-throw line.

In the second half Montana made good on 58.6 percent from the floor and 8- of-17 on the perimeter, but the team also converted just 5-of-12 at the charity stripe and allowed USF to shoot 64.3 percent from the field in the period.

The Grizzlies had a chance to win the game in the final moments, but a long jump shot by Jamar rimmed out.

Montana turned the ball over 16 times and shot only 6-of-14 at the free-throw line on the night.

Game Notes

NCAA Football Preview -Utah Utes

Last year started off with plenty of promise, as the Utes were 4-2 through the first six games, with a stunning upset of Stanford (27-20) the highlight of the run. That win would end up being the biggest of the year for Utah, which went on to drop five straight games following the victory. Utah managed to end the year on a high note, outlasting Colorado, 24-17. However, it was not enough to warrant a bowl appearance.
