Recap: Montana vs. North Dakota

Missoula, MT (SportsNetwork.com) - Kareem Jamar netted a game-high 33 points and dished out five assists as the Montana Grizzlies coasted to an 84-71 victory over the University of North Dakota in a Big Sky Conference tilt at Dahlberg Arena.

Jamar shot 8-of-14 from the floor, and hit 14-of-16 from the free-throw line for Montana (7-7, 2-3 Big Sky). Jordan Gregory and Keron DeShields each contributed 11 points for the Grizzlies, who ended a two-game losing streak with the win. Andy Martin chipped in 10 points.

Troy Huff paced North Dakota (5-10, 2-3) with 24 points and seven rebounds. Aaron Anderson netted 14 points, and Josh Schuler scored 10 in the losing effort. UND has lost two in a row.

Montana shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half, connecting on 6-of-9 from 3-point range in the frame. The Grizzlies took a 34-24 lead into the half. North Dakota shot 42.1 percent in the period.

Both teams upped their shooting accuracy in the second half. Montana hit 53.8 percent from the field, while North Dakota connected on 63.6 percent. The Grizzlies went 0-of-4 from beyond the 3-point arc in the half.

Montana had the edge at the free-throw line, outscoring UND 32-20 from the charity stripe. The Grizzlies also forced 11 North Dakota turnovers and only gave the ball away seven times.
