Recap: St Bonaventure vs. South Dakota

St. Bonaventure, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Charlon Kloof tallied 16 points, seven assists and four steals to lead the St. Bonaventure Bonnies over the South Dakota Coyotes, 68-46, in the season opener at the Reilly Center.

Marquise Simmons and Dion Wright added 12 points apiece for St. Bonaventure (1-0), while Jordan Gathers netted 11 points. Youssou Ndoye narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

For South Dakota (0-1), Brandon Bos poured in 14 points and Trevor Gruis scored 13 points.

South Dakota led by as many as eight points midway through the first half, but St. Bonaventure caught fire late to take a 31-21 lead into intermission.

After shooting 41.4 percent from the floor in the first half, the Bonnies improved to 42.9 percent in the final 20 minutes, and they never surrendered their lead after the break.

South Dakota finished the game shooting just 33.3 percent from the field and had more turnovers (17) than field goals (15).
