Recap: Oakland vs. Eastern Mich

Rochester, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Talley scored 21 points and dished out nine assists, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles claimed an 81-79 overtime victory against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a non-conference tussle at the O'rena.

Glenn Bryant added 14 points for the Eagles (6-3), while Darell Combs scored 13 and Da'Shonte Riley finished with 10.

Travis Bader led all scorers with 33 points for the Golden Grizzlies (3-9) as he knocked down 10-of-15 3-pointers. Corey Petros pulled down 19 rebounds to go along with his 13 points, Dante Williams scored 16 off the bench, and Kahlil Felder finished with 11 points and six assists.

The Golden Grizzlies made only 8-of-33 shots (.242) in the first half, although five of those makes came from beyond the arc as they trailed by only a 29-28 margin at the break.

EMU grabbed its largest lead of the game, 44-39, on a 3-pointer by Talley at the 14:36 mark of the second half. However, the Grizzlies went on to shoot 8- of-15 from the perimeter and 8-of-9 from the foul line over the course of the second half. Oakland's Duke Mondy made a pair of free throws late in regulation to force overtime.

In the extra session, Combs gave EMU the lead for good on a 3-pointer with 30 seconds to play, which put the Eagles on top, 80-79. Felder had a look at a potential game-winning jumper for Oakland with seven seconds left but Riley came up with a key block for the Eagles.

The game featured 12 ties and 11 lead changes, but the Eagles' 15-3 edge in points off turnovers proved critical.
