Recap: Eastern Mich vs. Toledo

Ypsilanti, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Tally and Karrington Ward each scored 13 points, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles cruised past the Toledo Rockets, 65-44, in Mid-American Conference play at the Convocation Center.

No other player reached double figures for the Eagles (15-10, 7-5 MAC), who turned in a superb defensive performance to notch their third straight win.

Julius Brown and Jonathan Williams had 13 points apiece to pace the Rockets (21-4, 9-3), who came into the game with wins in three straight and nine of their previous 10 outings.

The Rockets struggled mightily out of the gate, as they shot just 7-of-29 from the floor (.241) in the first half and trailed by a 26-22 margin at the break.

Toledo was never able to get going in the second stanza, while EMU enjoyed a 14-3 scoring edge at the foul line over the final 20 minutes to seal the double-digit victory.

Toledo came in averaging 83.2 ppg but barely reached half of that average in this one, as it shot a dismal 25.9 percent for the game.
