Richmond, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Treveon Graham registered 24 points and eight rebounds off the bench to lead the Virginia Commonwealth Rams past the Northeastern Wildcats, 79-66, in non-conference action at the Siegal Center.

Graham shot 9-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-4 from beyond the arc for VCU (5-2). Juvonte Reddic tallied a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Melvin Johnson pitched in 13 points.

For Northeastern (2-5), David Walker led the way with 19 points. Scott Eatherton added 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists, while T.J. Williams and Zach Stahl poured in 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Both teams shot greater than 51 percent from the field in the first half, but VCU was able to carry a 37-34 lead into intermission by earning extra possession by forcing nine Northeastern turnovers.

The Wildcats tied the game up at 49-49 on a Williams layup with 13:11 left, but the Rams answered on their next possession with a Rob Brandenberg 3- pointer to give them a lead they'd never relinquish.

VCU won despite a poor night from the foul line (7-of-17).
