The Huskies managed to extend their advantage to 13 by the 12:37 mark of the second half, but the hosts responded with 12-straight points to narrow the deficit to 43-42 with just under nine minutes left to play. EMU ended the game on a 10-0 run. NIU cooled off to shoot just 35 percent from the field, including a 1-of-7 clip from 3-point range after the break. The Eagles outrebounded the visitors, 20-11, and converted 15-of-17 tries at the charity stripe over the final 20 minutes to complete the rally.

The Eagles enjoyed a 38-28 edge in the rebounding battle.
