Recap: Northern Colorado vs. Montana State

Greeley, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Tevin Svihovec scored 17 points to lead five players in double figures for the Northern Colorado Bears, who topped the Montana State Bobcats, 83-73, in a Big Sky Confrence brawl at Butler-Hancock Pavilion.

Derrick Barden added 14 points and 12 rebounds for Northern Colorado (15-8, 9-5 Big Sky), which has won back-to-back games after a four-game losing streak. Jordan Wilson, Tate Unruh and Tim Huskisson each chipped in 13 points

Flavien Davis tied for a game-high with 17 points for Montana State (12-13, 7-7), which also featured five players in double figures. Marcus Colbert tallied 15 points, Antonio Biglow tacked on 13 and Stephan Holm and Terrell Brown each chimed in with 11.

A tight first half ended with the Bears leading, 36-35. They shot 45.2 percent from the floor in the opening half, while the Bobcats were at an even 50 percent.

After the break Northern Colorado shot a scorching 80 percent from the field to easily pull away, even though Montana State hit on 53.8 percent in the period.

Northern Colorado knocked down 10-of-18 shots from 3-point range and owned a 33-19 edge on the boards.
