Recap: North Dakota vs. Southern Utah

Grand Forks, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Troy Huff recorded a double-double with 25 points and 11 rebounds to lift North Dakota to a 65-61 decision over the Southern Utah Thunderbirds in a Big Sky Conference matchup at the Sioux Center.

Huff also racked up five steals for North Dakota (4-8, 1-1 Big Sky), which also received 14 points, four assists and three steals courtesy of Jamal Webb.

Trey Kennedy led SUU (1-9, 0-1) with 20 points. John Marshall chipped in 10 points while Casey Oliverson grabbed a team-high six boards.

The Thunderbirds jumped out to a nine-point lead just after the midway point of the first half, but they managed to go into the intermission ahead by only a single point at 37-36. North Dakota shot 50 percent from the field as Huff scored 18 points in the opening 20 minutes of action.

Webb scored all 14 of his points in the second period to help UND overcome its 0-of-4 clip from beyond the arc. SUU's could not keep up as it shot just 37.5 percent from the field after the break.

UND outscored the visitors, 32-18, in the paint and also, 19-13, at the free- throw line in the contest.
