Recap: Sacramento St vs. North Dakota

Sacramento, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Mikh McKinney scored 19 points and handed out six assists to help lead the Sacramento State Hornets to a 71-65 win over North Dakota in Big Sky Conference play at the Hornets Nest.

Nick Hornsby accounted for 15 points off the bench for the Hornets (12-12, 8-7 Big Sky) as they won for the sixth time in the last seven outings.

North Dakota (11-14, 8-7) was paced by Jamal Webb who tallied 23 points and eight rebounds, but he was the only one in double figures. Troy Huff finished with just eight points as he shot 3-of-10 from the floor in the team's second loss in three tries.

The visitors led by two points early in the meeting, but they ended up converting just eight field goals through the first 20 minutes of action, including a dismal 1-of-12 on the perimeter. With 57.7 percent accuracy from the floor, Sacramento moved out to a 37-22 advantage at the break.

In the second half it was the Hornets who struggled from the field (9-of-22), but a 16-of-22 effort at the free-throw line kept them out in front and on track for the home win.

The difference in the meeting took place at the charity stripe where Sacramento held a 21-15 scoring edge.
