Recap: Northern Colorado vs. Northern Ariz

Greeley, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Tate Unruh scored 20 points to carry the Northern Colorado Bears to an 87-72 victory over the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks in Big Sky Conference action at Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion.

Tim Huskisson added 19 points and Derrick Barden finished with 14 for Northern Colorado (12-4, 6-1 Big Sky), which has won six of its last seven. Tevin Svihovec chipped in 11 points off the bench.

Quinton Upshur nailed 11-of-13 from the floor, including 7-of-8 from beyond the arc, to record 32 points for Northern Arizona (8-10, 5-2), which also got 20 points from Kris Yanku. The Lumberjacks had a four-game winning streak snapped in the loss.

In the first half the Bears shot 53.2 percent from the floor, including a 7- of-10 showing from beyond the arc, to enter the break, leading 42-29. The Lumberjacks shot 50 percent in the period, with Upshur tallying 23 points in the frame.

The Bears improved to 68.2 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes to easily hold on for the win.

Northern Colorado had a 19-11 edge in points off turnovers. The teams combined to knock down 19 shots from 3-point range.
