Recap: Portland State vs. Sacramento St

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Mikh McKinney tallied 18 points and 11 assists as the Sacramento State Hornets collected a 72-65 road win over the Portland State Vikings in Big Sky Conference action at the Stott Center.

Cody Demps added 16 points and Dylan Garrity chipped in 15 for Sacramento State (11-12, 7-7 Big Sky), which has won five of its last six. Eric Stuteville contributed 12 points for the victors.

Andre Winston scored 18 points to pace Portland State (11-12, 6-8), which has lost four straight. Gary Winston and Tim Douglas each chipped in 10 points.

The Hornets dominated in the first half, leading 43-29 at the break after shooting 65.4 percent during the first 20 minutes.

Sacramento State kept shooting well after halftime, connecting on 57.1 percent from the floor in the second stanza.

Portland State lost despite shooting 53.7 percent from the field in the contest. The difference came at the free-throw line, where the Hornets had an 11-3 edge.
