Recap: BYU vs. Pepperdine

Provo, UT ( - Tyler Haws poured in 35 points to lead the BYU Cougars to an 84-72 victory over the Pepperdine Waves in a West Coast Conference joust at the Marriott Center.

Haws hit 11-of-23 shots from the floor and Skyler Halford added 18 points for BYU (10-7, 2-2 WCC), which has won five of its last six. Kyle Collinsworth contributed 15 points as well.

Pepperdine (10-7, 3-2) was paced by 17 points from Stacy Davis. Lamond Murray Jr. added 14 points and Jeremy Major had 12 points to go with six assists.

At halftime the Cougars led by a score of 33-30. They knocked down 40 percent of their shots from the floor and limited the Waves to nine field goals.

BYU improved to 53.6 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes to separate itself for the 12-point win.

The Cougars outscored the Waves, 34-22, in the paint. They also had 19 assists as compared to 11 for Pepperdine.
