Recap: BYU vs. Loyola Marymount

Provo, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Tyler Haws dropped in 31 points to lead the BYU Cougars to a 91-68 victory over the Loyola Marymount Lions in a West Coast Conference battle at the Marriott Center.

For the Cougars (11-7, 3-2 WCC), Kyle Collinsworth added 20 points, Matt Carlino finished with 18 points and Josh Sharp chipped in with 10 points.

Anthony Ireland led the Lions (10-8, 2-4) with 17 points and C.J. Blackwell added 15 points.

BYU shot just 40 percent in the first half but were able to outscore Loyola at the free-throw line, 11-1, as the Lions took the slim lead at halftime, 38-37. Loyola shot 53.3 percent from the field in the opening period, including 5- of-10 from beyond the arc.

With the game tied at 58-58 with just under 12 minutes to play, the Cougars used a 24-5 run over the next eight minutes to pull away from the Lions and cruise to the win.

The Cougars finished with a 38-28 rebounding advantage for the game. They also dominated at the charity stripe, outscoring the Lions, 30-8.
