Recap: Southern Utah vs. Sacramento St

Cedar City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Dylan Garrity finished with 21 points as the Sacramento State Hornets made easy work of the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, 77-49, in a Big Sky Conference tilt at Centrum Arena.

Mikh McKinney tallied 15 points and five assists for the Hornets (5-8, 1-3 Big Sky). Zach Mills pulled down six boards as the team snapped a three-game losing streak.

Trey Kennedy registered 11 points for the Thunderbirds (1-11, 0-3). A.J. Hess scored 10 points while Casey Oliverson had nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Hornets drained 57.7 percent of their field goal attempts in the first half, as they maintained a 36-15 lead at intermission. Southern Utah shot a miserable 15.8 percent from the floor.

Sacramento State coasted to victory by making 63.6 percent of its field goal tries after the break, including 6-of-11 from 3-point range.

The Thunderbirds finished just 1-of-12 from 3-point range, compared to 9-of-16 for the Hornets.
