Recap: Miami-Ohio vs. Toledo

Oxford, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Justin Drummond registered a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds to help the Toledo Rockets to an 83-70 decision over the Miami-Ohio RedHawks in a Mid-American Conference bout at Millett Hall.

Nathan Boothe added 14 points and rejected three shots for the Rockets (18-2, 6-1 MAC) as they won for the sixth time in a row. J.D. Weatherspoon contributed 13 points and Matt Smith tallied 10 points in nine minutes off the bench.

Miami (8-10, 4-3) was led by Geovonie McKnight, who netted 18 points on 7- of-15 shooting from the floor. Quinten Rollins scored 14 points while Will Sullivan chipped in 11. McKnight and Sullivan swiped four steals each. Bill Edwards was limited to 1-of-12 shooting from the field and just six points.

Toledo took a 37-33 lead into the intermission after it hit on 48.6 percent of its field goal tries in the opening 20 minutes of the contest. The RedHawks made 43.8 percent of their shots from the floor but missed all five of their attempts from 3-point range in the first half.

Miami continued to struggle after the break as it knocked down only one of its 12 attempts from beyond the arc. The Rockets connected on 64 percent of their field goal tries and converted 10-of-15 attempts at the free-throw line in the second stanza to pull away for the double-digit triumph.

Despite the loss, the RedHawks outscored the visitors, 48-42, in the paint and also, 16-6, in fast break points.
