Recap: San Diego vs. Southern Utah

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Johnny Dee racked up 16 points, as the San Diego Toreros routed the Southern Utah Thunderbirds, 67-52, in a non- conference matchup at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Dennis Kramer scored 15 points and had eight rebounds for the Toreros (9-4). Christopher Anderson chipped in 12 points, six assists and five steals.

Eric Rippetoe led the Thunderbirds (1-8) with 14 points. A.J. Hess added 13 points while Casey Oliverson brought down nine boards.

The Toreros came out strong in the first half, making 52.2 percent of their field goal tries. They were able to take a 33-22 lead into the break. The Thunderbirds shot just 36 percent from the floor in the opening stanza.

The second half proved to be easy for San Diego, as it shot 50 percent from the floor. Southern Utah made 40.7 percent of its field goal attempts, including 6-of-10 from 3-point range, but it wasn't enough for the Thunderbirds to get back in the game.

San Diego edged Southern Utah in rebounding, 33-24. The Toreros dominated inside by outscoring the Thunderbirds in the paint, 36-8.
