Recap: UNC Greensboro vs. Davidson

Greensboro, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - De'Mon Brooks tallied 24 points and nine rebounds to lead the Davidson Wildcats to a 93-82 victory over the UNC Greensboro Spartans in Southern Conference action at Greensboro Coliseum.

Brooks shot 8-of-13 from the field and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line for Davidson (8-11, 4-1 SoCon), which has won four of five. Jack Gibbs drained all 12 of his attempts at the foul line on his way to 17 points, while Brian Sullivan added 14 points.

For UNCG (10-10, 3-2), Nicholas Paulos scored 27 points on a perfect 9-of-9 from beyond the arc, a school record for most 3-pointers in a game without a miss. Tevon Saddler logged 20 points and seven assists and Kyle Cain produced 19 points and seven boards.

Both teams struggled from the field in the first half, with neither side shooting greater than 38 percent. Davidson took a 40-32 advantage heading into the halftime locker room by draining 4-of-9 from 3-point range and 14-of-15 at the foul line.

The Wildcats improved their field goal shooting to a lofty 60.9 percent in the second half, as their lead swelled to as many as 15. UNCG brought its deficit to just six with a minute to play, but Davidson put the game on ice by connecting on 9-of-10 at the foul line to close it out.

The difference was made at the charity stripe, where Davidson was an outstanding 35-of-39, compared to 15-of-21 for the Spartans.
