Recap: Stony Brook vs. Toledo

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Julius Brown tallied 23 points and eight assists to help Toledo stay unbeaten on the young season with a 103-99 victory over Stony Brook in a 2K Sports Classic Subregional hosted by the University of Detroit Mercy.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Rockets (4-0), with Rian Pearson and Nathan Boone each collecting 15 points and J.D. Weatherspoon recording 12 along with seven rebounds.

Toledo also got a strong overall effort from the foul line, knocking down 34- of-42 attempts at the stripe compared to an 18-of-25 success rate for the Seawolves. Brown finished a perfect 10-for-10 on free throws, while Weatherspoon went 8-for-12.

Stony Brook (3-2) fell despite a brilliant performance from Anthony Jackson, who poured in 36 points and made good on 7-of-9 shots from 3-point range. Jameel Warney ended 8-of-11 overall from the field while totaling 17 points and four assists.

The Rockets will take on host Detroit as this round-robin event resumes Saturday, with Stony Brook facing Florida Atlantic.
