Recap: Chattanooga vs. Elon

Chattanooga, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Z Mason logged a double-double with 27 points and 11 rebounds as the Chattanooga Mocs rolled over the Elon Phoenix, 84-63, at McKenzie Arena in Southern Conference action.

Mason shot 11-of-16 from the field for the Mocs (13-8, 7-0 SoCon), who have won nine games in a row. Gee McGhee and Ronrico White both added 13 points to help the offense.

Sebastian Koch and Luke Eddy netted 11 points apiece for the Phoenix (10-10, 3-2), who have dropped back-to-back games. Lucas Troutman and Tanner Samson each contributed 10 points in the loss.

The Mocs started strong, shooting 50 percent from the field in the opening half, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range. The Phoenix, shooting 44.4 percent, trailed 41-32 at halftime.

In the second half, Chattanooga again took an advantage in field goal shooting, making 43.5 percent to its opponent's 39.1 percent. The Mocs also sank a devastating 20-of-22 at the free-throw line to seal the victory.

The Mocs outrebounded the Phoenix 35-25 and held a lead which was as large as 25 points, midway through the latter half.
