Recap: Santa Clara vs. San Diego

Santa Clara, CA ( - Duda Sanadze scored a game-high 25 points to lead the San Diego Toreros to a 69-66 victory over the Santa Clara Broncos in a West Coast Conference showdown at the Leavey Center.

For the Toreros (11-8, 2-4 WCC), Dennis Kramer added 14 points and Christopher Anderson chipped in with 11.

Brandon Clark led the Broncos (10-10, 3-4) with 21 points, Jared Brownridge scored 19, Jerry Brown had 11 points and Even Roquemore tallied 10.

The Broncos took a 32-28 lead into the intermission after they shot 44 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes. The Toreros trailed at the break despite hitting on 45.6 percent of their field goal tries in the first half.

USD heated up to drain 61.9 percent of its shots from the field including 6- of-8 from 3-point range. Although Santa Clara connected on 13-of-26 field goal tries in the second stanza, it went just 1-of-6 from beyond the arc. Sanadze made a pair of free throws with five seconds left to give the visitors a three-point lead before Roquemore missed a potentially game-tying 3-pointer as time expired.

Both sides finished with 12 assists, 24 makes from the floor and 14 made free- throw attempts. USD outscored the Broncos, 21-12, from beyond the arc.
