Recap: San Diego vs. San Francisco

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cole Dickerson scored 21 points as the San Francisco Dons defeated the San Diego Toreros, 74-67, in a West Coast Conference clash at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

Avry Holmes had 15 points and four assists for the Dons (15-9, 8-4 WCC), who have won four of their last five games. Kruize Pinkins registered a double- double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Tim Derksen added 13 points.

Johnny Dee tallied 18 points for the Toreros (13-12, 4-8), who have lost two straight. Duda Sanadze chipped in 15 points and Christopher Anderson netted 13 with six assists. Dennis Kramer finished with 11 points and nine rebounds.

USF made 48.3 percent of its shots from the field in the first half, and led 34-30 at the break. USD made 44.4 percent of its field goal attempts, including 5-of-11 from 3-point range.

The Toreros opened the second period with a 14-9 run to take a one-point lead with 13:33 on the clock. The Dons would regain the lead just a little over 10 minutes later after Holmes hit a jumper to put USF up 62-61. They finished on a 12-6 run to hold off USD and claim the road victory.

The Dons played better inside, outscoring the Toreros 20-6 in the paint, and had the edge in bench points, 17-5.
