GSU outscored the Spartans, 16-10, in the paint in the second period. The Eagles led, 64-59, with 4:05 remaining in regulation. Although they were held scoreless the rest of the way, UNCG also failed to make another shot from the floor before the final buzzer. Tevon Saddler sank a free-throw try with 2:11 showing on the clock to make it a one-possession game.
