Recap: Pacific vs. Pepperdine

Stockton, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Sama Taku scored 18 points as the Pacific Tigers captured a 76-66 win over the Pepperdine Waves in West Coast Conference action at the Spanos Center.

Also scoring in double figures for the Tigers (11-8, 2-6 WCC), as they snapped a two-game slide and won for just the second time in the last eight outings, were Tony Gill and Andrew Bock with 17 and 12 points, respectively.

The Waves (12-10, 5-5) were paced by Stacy Davis and Malcolm Brooks with 12 points apiece, followed by Amadi Udenyi with 11 as they fell for the third time in four games.

Both teams shot the ball well from the field overall in the first half, but in addition to connecting on 60.0 percent, the Tigers also nailed 6-of-9 shots behind the 3-point yet still had to settle for a 38-38 tie at the break. Pepperdine was 56.0 percent accuracy from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action.

In the second half Pacific continued to knock down shots at an impressive rate (52.0 percent), but the Waves dipped all the way down to only 31.3 percent, allowing the hosts to pull away for the double-digit win.

Holding the visitors to only 4-of-17 shooting beyond the arc helped Pacific to overcome 20 turnovers on the night.
