Recap: Wofford vs. UNC Greensboro

Spartanburg, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Kayel Locke finished with 17 points as the UNC Greensboro Spartans narrowly defeated the Wofford Terriers, 73-71, in a Southern Conference showdown at Benjamin Johnson Arena.

Tevon Saddler had 14 points for the Spartans (14-17, 7-9 SoCon), who have won two of their last three contests. RJ White added 13 points while Kyle Cain chipped in 10 with eight rebounds.

Spencer Collins logged 15 points, while Karl Cochran registered 12 and five assists for the Terriers (17-12, 11-5), who have lost two of their last three but still secured a bye through the first round in the Southern Conference Tournament.

Wofford shot 50 percent from the field in the first half, as it led 38-29 at the break. UNCG made 45.8 percent of its field goal attempts and had five turnovers.

The Spartans were on fire in the second period as they drained 78.3 percent of their shots from the floor. UNCG took the lead for good when White connected on a jumper with 9:40 remaining to make the score 54-52. The Spartans used an 11-5 run over the next three minutes and maintained their lead over the Terriers.

UNCG held a 30-23 rebounding edge over Wofford.
