Recap: Chattanooga vs. Wofford

Chattanooga, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Casey Jones scored 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting as the Chattanooga Mocs held on for a 70-69 victory over the Wofford Terriers in a Southern Conference battle at McKenzie Arena.

Z. Mason scored 17 points, collected seven rebounds and blocked four shots for Chattanooga (10-8, 4-0 SoCon), which has won six straight. Ronrico White added 15 points.

Karl Cochran netted a team-high 20 points for Wofford (7-9, 2-2), which suffered its third loss in the last four games. Spencer Collins chipped in 11 points and Lee Skinner finished with a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds.

The Mocs entered halftime with a 28-24 lead. They shot 44 percent in the frame, but just 5-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Terriers hit on only 38.5 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes.

Wofford, which trailed by as many as 11 points in the second half, rallied by shooting 46.9 percent in the period. Jaylen Allen made a layup and had a chance for a three-point play with eight seconds left, but missed the free- throw attempt. Gee McGhee was fouled on the other end but missed both attempts, giving the Terriers one last chance. However, Cochran turned the ball over and the Mocs escaped.

The Terriers had a 17-8 scoring advantage off of turnovers. The Mocs enjoyed an 18-13 edge in second chance points.

Game Notes

Expect points galore when Marshall hosts FAU

Marshall's offense started slowly last Saturday, scoring just 14 points in the first half at Florida International. However, come the final whistle, the Thundering Herd had topped 40 points for the sixth consecutive time.
