Recap: San Francisco vs. Vermont

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cole Dickerson finished with a game- high 28 points to carry the San Francisco Dons to a 72-61 victory over the Vermont Catamounts as part of the Golden Gate Challenge at War Memorial Gymnasium.

Avry Holmes and Kruize Pinkins each added 13 points for San Francisco (5-3).

Clancy Rugg had 13 points and Brian Voelkel and Sandro Carissimo each contributed 11 for Vermont (2-6).

Both teams had some issues on offense in the first half. The Dons hit on just 37.9 percent of their field goal attempts but did outscore the Catamounts, 15-6, from beyond the arc to take a 30-26 lead at the break. Vermont shot 40.7 percent from the floor during the period.

After intermission the Dons shot a scorching 70 percent from the floor to pull away for the victory.

San Francisco had a 22-14 edge on points off turnovers and outscored Vermont, 34-22, in the paint.
