Recap: Wofford vs. Western Carolina

Spartanburg, SC (SportsNetwork.com) - Karl Cochran scored a game-high 23 points as the Wofford Terriers captured a 71-60 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts in Southern Conference action at Benjamin Johnson Arena.

Cochran, who connected on 3-of-4 shots behind the 3-point line, also grabbed five rebounds and handed out five assists for the Terriers (8-10, 3-3 SoCon) as they snapped a two-game slide. Spencer Collins added 15 points and Lee Skinner recorded a double-double consisting of 11 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts.

The Catamounts (11-9, 4-1) were paced by Trey Sumler with 20 points and James Sinclair 13, while Mike Brown accounted for seven points and 10 boards off the bench as the team had a five-game win streak come to an end.

Western Carolina led by as many as eight points in the first half, but the team shot only 39.3 percent from the field in the period and was outscored at the free-throw line, 9-2, en route to a 33-26 deficit at the break.

The Catamounts were limited to a mere nine made field goals over the final 20 minutes of action, allowing Wofford to grab the double-digit win.
