Recap: Hofstra vs. Northeastern

Hempstead, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Demetrius Pollard scored 25 points and handed out six assists to carry the Northeastern Huskies to a 70-57 victory over the Hofstra Pride in Colonial Athletic Association action at the Mack Sports Complex.

Scott Eatherton tallied 18 points and David Walker chipped in 10 for Northeastern (7-14, 4-3 CAA), which has won three of its last four.

Dion Nesmith paced Hofstra (7-13, 3-2) with 18 points. Zeke Upshaw contributed 12 points, Jamall Robinson tipped in 11 and Moussa Kone chimed in with 10.

At halftime the Pride led 33-30. They connected on 48 percent from the floor in the opening period, as did Northeastern. The difference came from beyond the arc and at the free-throw line, where the Pride had advantages of 12-9 and 5-3, respectively.

The Huskies heated up in the second half, knocking down 55.2 percent from the floor, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, to pull away for the win. The Pride only hit on 34.5 percent from the field in the second half.

Northeastern assisted on 18 of 28 field goals, while forcing 13 turnovers.
