Recap: IUPUI vs. Nebraska Omaha

Indianapolis, IN ( - Devin Patterson scored 15 points, leading six players in double figures, as the Mavericks of Nebraska Omaha ran away with a 99-71 victory over the IUPUI Jaguars in Summit League action in the Jungle.

The list of double-digit scorers for the Mavericks (13-9, 3-4 Summit) included John Karhoff with 14 points, Justin Simmons and Marcus Tyus 13 apiece and 12 points for both Alex Phillips and CJ Carter as the team won for the second time in the last three outings.

The Jaguars (5-19, 0-7), losers of seven in a row, were led by Elijah Ray with a game-high 19 points, followed by Mitch Patton with 14 in the losing cause.

IUPUI shot the ball well from the field in the first half at a 51.7 percent clip, but the Mavericks were far superior with a sizzling 67.6 percent effort in order to take a 55-36 advantage into the break.

In the second half Omaha cooled to 42.9 percent from the floor, but the Jags were unable to close the gap because they missed all nine of their 3-point tries in the frame.

Omaha, which shot an impressive 12-of-23 beyond the arc and led by as many as 34 points in the second half, turned the ball over just six times on the day.
