Recap: North Dakota St vs. Western Ill

Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Marshall Bjorklund had 15 points and Taylor Braun scored 14, as the North Dakota State Bison topped the Western Illinois Leathernecks, 65-52, in Summit League play at Bison Sports Arena.

Bjorklund, who entered the day as the nation's leader in field-goal percentage (.669), converted 5-of-10 attempts from the floor. Braun also tallied eight rebounds and six assists in the win, while TrayVonn Wright added 12 points and six boards for the Bison (14-5, 3-1 Summit).

Michael Ochereobia paced the Leathernecks (7-11, 1-2) with a game-high 18 points to go along with six caroms. Jabari Sandifer and Garret Covington rounded out the double-digit scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

After going seven minutes without a field goal in the first half, NDSU got a 3-pointer from Lawrence Alexander and another bucket by Braun late in the period to knot the score at 30-30 going into halftime.

The Bison had only two turnovers after halftime in addition to holding a key 23-9 rebounding advantage over the final 20 minutes.

The Leathernecks lost steam as the game progressed, as their bench did not contribute a single point in the contest (13-0).
