Recap: South Dakota vs. North Dakota St

Vermillion, SD (SportsNetwork.com) - TrayVonn Wright scored 20 points, including a pair of free throws with eight seconds left that helped seal a 66-63 win for the North Dakota State Bison over the South Dakota Coyotes in Summit League play at the DakotaDome.

Wright added eight rebounds to his stat line for the Bison (16-5, 5-1 Summit). Lawrence Alexander chipped in 12 points, and Taylor Braun scored 11 in the win. The Bison have won five consecutive games.

Trevor Gruis netted 16 points and pulled down eight rebounds to pace South Dakota (8-12, 3-3). Brandon Bos scored 14 points and Adam Thoseby chipped in 11. The Coyotes have lost three games in a row.

North Dakota State shot 50 percent in the first half and took a 44-33 lead into the intermission. South Dakota shot 39.1 percent from the floor in the frame.

The Bison cooled off in the second half, shooting just 26.9 percent in the period to South Dakota's 50 percent in the half. The Coyotes outscored the Bison, 30-22, in the frame, but couldn't complete the comeback.

North Dakota State had the edge in points off turnovers, 15-9. South Dakota had the advantage in rebounding, 36-29, and in bench points, 18-8.
