Recap: Fairfield vs. Northeastern

Bridgeport, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcus Gilbert netted 23 points, leading the Fairfield Stags over the Northeastern Huskies, 64-60, at Webster Bank Arena.

Gilbert shot 7-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range for the Stags (2-8). Maurice Barrow scored 20 points off the bench on 9-of-15 from the floor.

Scott Eatherton recorded a double-double for the Huskies (2-8) with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Reggie Spencer tallied 17 points on 6-of-9 from the floor.

Fairfield carried a 33-23 lead at the half, separating itself midway through the frame with an 8-0 run.

The Huskies, making a push to get back in the game, began the second half on a 17-5 run to take the lead. The rest of the game was a back-and-forth battle until Barrow snapped a 53-53 tie with a layup at the 4:14 mark. Fairfield sealed its fate in the final 28 seconds by shooting 4-of-4 from the free-throw line.

The Huskies failed to establish a perimeter game, missing all 11 attempts from long range.
