Recap: Green Bay vs. Fairfield

Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Alec Brown erupted for 40 points, and the Green Bay Phoenix claimed a 74-58 victory over the Fairfield Stags in non- conference action at the Resch Center.

Brown was the only double-digit scorer for the Phoenix (8-3), winners of three straight and five of six overall. He shot 12-of-17 from the field and 14-of-15 from the foul line while also tallying eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Marcus Gilbert and Steve Smith each scored 15 points to pace the Stags (2-9).

Fairfield made 6-of-12 3-pointers in the first half but shot just 3-of-18 from inside the arc, as Green Bay took a 35-27 halftime lead into the locker room.

The Stags shot just 25.9 percent from the floor (7-of-27) in the second stanza and trailed by as many as 21 late in regulation.

Of Fairfield's 16 field goals for the game, only six came from two-point range. The Stags also committed 19 turnovers, which led to a key 23-10 advantage for Green Bay in points off turnovers.
