Recap: Rider vs. Fairfield

Lawrenceville, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Daniel Stewart scored 18 points and came a rebound shy of a double-double as the Rider Broncs recorded a 73-65 victory over the Fairfield Stags in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference conflict at Alumni Gym.

Jimmie Taylor added 14 points and Kahlil Thomas tallied 11 for Rider (12-9, 8-4 MAAC), which has won three straight.

Maurice Barrow dropped in 22 points off the bench for Fairfield (4-19, 1-11), which has lost five straight. Marcus Gilbert chipped in 15, but on 4-of-13 shooting.

The Broncs clung to a 32-30 lead at halftime, after connecting on 41.7 percent from the floor, which was a bit better than the Stags, who turned in a 35.7 percent performance.

Rider was able to pull away after halftime by shooting 52.2 percent from the floor and draining 15-of-19 at the free-throw line.

The Broncs forced 21 turnovers, which led to 27 points. Fairfield had a 35-27 edge on the glass.
