Recap: UNC-Wilmington vs. Manhattan

Wilmington, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - George Beamon poured in a game-high 23 points as the Manhattan Jaspers downed the UNC-Wilmington Seahawks, 77-72, in a non-conference clash at Trask Coliseum.

Rhamel Brown added 16 points for Manhattan (7-2), which has won four in a row. Emmy Andujar came off the bench to tally 10 points and nine rebounds.

For UNCW (6-6), Cedrick Williams had 18 points, 14 rebounds and four blocks. Addison Spruill scored 15 points, while Freddie Jackson and Tanner Milson netted 11 points apiece.

UNCW shot 48.1 percent from the field in the first half, slightly better than Manhattan's 48 percent, but the Jaspers went up 34-30 at the break by draining three 3-pointers in the opening stanza compared to just one for the Seahawks.

Manhattan led by 10 with under seven minutes left in the game, and while the Seahawks brought their deficit to just three in the final minute, they would get no closer. The Jaspers nearly cost themselves at the foul line in the second half. They attempted 29 free throws but only made 17 (.586).

UNCW committed 15 turnovers, while Manhattan coughed the ball up just 11 times.
