Recap: Marist vs. Rider

Poughkeepsie, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Myles scored a game-high 23 points as the Rider Broncs defeated the Marist Red Foxes, 66-56, in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at McCann Arena.

Myles connected on 6-of-11 from the floor, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range for Rider (9-8, 5-3 MAAC). Daniel Stewart contributed 17 points and eight rebounds, and Kahlil Thomas netted 10 points with seven rebounds. The Broncs have won two of their last three games.

Chavaughn Lewis scored 15 points to lead Marist (5-12, 2-5), adding four rebounds and three steals in the loss. Khallid Hart netted 11 points and Adam Kemp chipped in 10 with a team-high 11 rebounds for the double-double. The Red Foxes have lost three consecutive contests.

Rider hit 42.1 percent of its shots in the first half, including 2-of-6 from 3-point range. Marist shot a dismal 30 percent from the field in the frame, connecting on just 1-of-6 from distance. The Broncs went into the half up 22-17.

Rider came out firing in the second period, hitting 60 percent of its shots to Marist's 33.3 percent shooting. The Red Foxes shot only 16.7 percent from 3- point distance for the game to Rider's 50 percent from deep.

Marist had the edge in points off turnovers, 27-9, by forcing the Broncs into committing 24 total giveaways. The Broncs had the advantage in rebounding, 38-22.
