Recap: Niagara vs. Saint Peters

Niagara, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Antoine Mason scored 35 points to lead the Niagara Purple Eagles to a 61-56 victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference battle at the Gallagher Center.

Mason, who leads the nation in scoring, hit 13-of-24 field goal attempts for Niagara (2-8, 1-1 MAAC) and was the only player on either side to play all 40 minutes. Rayvon Harris chipped in 10 points.

Desi Washington netted 16 points and Marvin Dominique finished with a double- double of 10 points and 16 rebounds for Saint Peter's (2-6, 0-2).

In the first half both teams struggled to shoot the ball. The Peacocks connected on 25.8 percent from the field while the Purple Eagles were even worse at 22.2 percent. Saint Peter's led, 23-15, at the break.

Led by Mason, who scored 25 points in the second half, the Purple Eagles stormed back after halftime. Niagara connected on 58.6 percent of its field goal tries while holding the Peacocks to only 10 field goals.

Niagara forced 21 turnovers and traded them in for 22 points. Saint Peter's only managed five points off of 12 takeaways.
