Recap: Ill-Chicago vs. Green Bay

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Alec Brown scored a game-high 23 points as the Green Bay Phoenix captured a 69-64 win over the Flames of Illinois-Chicago in Horizon League action at UIC Pavilion.

Also scoring in double figures for Green Bay (15-3, 5-0 HL) was Keifer Sykes with 21 points as the team extended its win streak to 10 in a row and remained all alone atop the league standings.

The Flames (5-14, 0-5), the only team still without a win in Horizon League action, were led by Pat Birt with 13 points and Jordan Harks 11, as the squad bowed for the eighth time in as many games.

Green Bay led by as many as 10 points in the first half, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor, but the squad found itself ahead by just four at the break, 33-29.

In the second half the Flames turned the corner in order to lead by eight at the 13:03 mark, but the hosts converted just 2-of-7 behind the 3-point line and struggled at the free-throw line (13-of-21) in the period.

UIC finished the day shooting only 18-of-31 at the charity stripe.
