Recap: Saint Peters vs. Niagara

Jersey City, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Desi Washington scored 18 points to lead the Saint Peter's Peacocks to a 71-67 win over the Niagara Purple Eagles in the season finale for the two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference teams at the Yanitelli Center.

Marvin Dominique tallied 17 points and Chris Burke chipped in 12 for Saint Peter's (13-16, 9-11 MAAC), which ended the season on a four-game winning streak.

Antoine Mason finished with a game-high 20 points for Niagara (6-25, 3-17), which lost its last 10 games of the campaign. Marvin Jordan added 17 points and Wesley Myers tacked on 11.

In the first half Saint Peter's only shot at a 34.6 percent clip, while Niagara was at 41.7 percent shooting. The Purple Eagles led, 29-28, at the break.

The Peacocks woke up in the second half, shooting 60.9 percent from the floor, to rally past Niagara, which turned in a 50 percent shooting effort after the intermission.

Niagara outscored Saint Peter's, 30-18, from 3-point range. The Peacocks had a 19-11 edge from the free-throw line.
