Recap: Ill-Chicago vs. Oakland

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Travis Bader scored a game-high 28 points as the Oakland Golden Grizzlies claimed an 86-71 victory over the Illinois- Chicago Flames in a Horizon League contest at UIC Pavilion.

Duke Mondy added 17 points and eight assists for Oakland (11-19, 6-8 Horizon League), which had lost four of its previous five. Ralph Hill chipped in 13 points.

Hayden Humes tallied 16 points and Marc Brown chimed in with 10 for UIC (5-23, 0-14), which has lost 17 straight.

Oakland started quickly, sinking 65.4 percent from the floor, including 9- of-15 from 3-point range, in the first 20 minutes. UIC had only eight field goals in the first half and trailed, 45-24, at halftime.

The Golden Grizzlies shot at a 45.5 percent clip in the second half and also connected on 21-of-28 from the free-throw line as they coasted to victory.

UIC lost despite a 20-8 edge in second chance points. Oakland assisted on 19 of its 27 field goals.
