Recap: Central Mich vs. CS-Northridge

Mount Pleasant, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Fowler scored 25 points to help the Central Michigan Chippewas close out the CMU Tournament with a 90-76 victory over the Cal State Northridge Matadors at McGuirk Arena.

Fowler also dished out eight assists for Central Michigan (3-3). John Simons added 15 points and eight rebounds and Braylon Rayson and Blake Hibbitts each chipped in 10 points.

Stephan Hicks put in 22 points and Aaron Parks contributed 17 off the bench for Cal State Northridge (3-3). Stephen Maxwell (14 points) and Josh Greene (12) were also in double figures.

In the first half the Chippewas shot a superior 56 percent from the field as compared to the 47.8 percent effort from the Matadors. The Chippewas also enjoyed a 21-3 edge from beyond the arc to roll into halftime leading 44-32.

After the break the Chippewas continued to shoot well, netting 56 percent from the field, to hold off the Matadors, who improved to 56.5 percent shooting from the field over the final 20 minutes.

Central Michigan knocked down 12 3-pointers in the win while the Matadors had only three. Cal State Northridge did win the battle of the boards (30-22).
