Recap: Morgan State vs. Vanderbilt

St. Thomas, VI (SportsNetwork.com) - Kyle Fuller had 16 points and five assists as the Vanderbilt Commodores triumphed over the Morgan State Bears, 75-66, in a consolation matchup of the Paradise Jam at the Sports and Fitness Center.

Damian Jones, who shot just 1-of-8 at the free-throw line, had 13 points for Vanderbilt (3-2). Eric McClellan chipped in 12 while Luke Kornet and Rod Odom had 11 points apiece.

Justin Black led all scorers with 18 points for the Bears (0-6), delivering six rebounds, five assists and five steals as well. Ian Chiles added 15 with nine boards and Anthony Hubbard accounted for 12 points and eight rebounds.

The Commodores outscored the Bears 26-12 in the paint to help give Vanderbilt a 37-23 lead at the break. Morgan State shot a meager 32.1 percent on its field goal attempts.

Morgan State only had one bench point in the second half. Vanderbilt went 2- of-5 from 3-point range after intermission and shot 48 percent from the floor.

Vanderbilt dominated in bench play as the Commodores outscored the Bears 35-11 in bench points.

The Commodores will play Loyola Marymount on Monday in the next round of the tournament.
