Recap: Holy Cross vs. Hartford

Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Dave Dudzinski scored 18 points as he led the Holy Cross Crusaders over the Hartford Hawks, 80-55, in part of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Dudzinski was 8-of-9 from the field and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Crusaders (3-3). Eric Green added 18 points of his own while securing six rebounds and five steals. Malachi Alexander contributed 13 points and seven rebounds off the bench.

Dyson Taylor scored 15 points and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers for the Hawks (2-5). Coming off the bench, Evan Cooper hit four 3-pointers and scored 14 points in a losing effort as no other Hawks scored in double-figures.

Holy Cross carried a huge, 35-14, lead into halftime after holding Hartford to just one made field goal in the entire first half as the Hawks scored 12 points from the free-throw line.

In the second half the Hawks shot 51.9 percent from the field and hit 9-of-17 shots from beyond the arc but it was not enough as Holy Cross coasted on the back of a 68.2 percent shooting effort after halftime.

The difference in the game came in the paint where the Crusaders outscored Hartford 40-10.
