Recap: Stetson vs. Southern Ill

Estero, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Anthony Beane netted 20 points on 7-of-11 shooting to lead Southern Illinois to a 67-48 rout of winless Stetson in the second round of the inaugural Gulf Coast Showcase.

Jalen Pendleton added 12 points in the victory while Desmar Jackson, who led the club in scoring the past three games, chipped in with 10 points. SIU (2-4) reserves outscored its counterparts, 16-7.

Aaron Graham paced Stetson (0-7) with 17 points and Raymone Andrews had 12 points and a team-high three assists. The Hatters managed just six helpers as a team and lost the rebounding edge, 41-32.

The Salukis led 32-27 at intermission and pulled away with a dominant second half effort. SIU shot 11-of-21 from the field in the second and earned 19 free throws while holding Stetson without a made 3-pointer in nine tries.
