Louisiana Tech also converted 18-of-22 at the free-throw line through the first 20 minutes.

In the second half the Bulldogs had their issues at the charity stripe (11- of-21), but still made good on an even 50 percent from the floor in order to maintain their distance.

Louisiana Tech outscored the Flames in the paint, 50-30, and forced UIC into 18 turnovers.

Both teams will be back in action on Wednesday, matching up against Wagner and St. Bonaventure.
